CHARACTER INFORMATION
NAME: Simon Lewis
CANON: Shadowhunters ( TV )
AGE: 18
CANON POINT: Post 1x13 Morning Star
BACKGROUND: "Then I became Nerdferatu."
INCENTIVE: The main threat to Simon's world, the Downworld as he's been recently joined the ranks of the vampire undead, is Valentine. Clary's father who has recently gained control of the mortal cup, a relic which has the ability to turn your run-of-the-mill mundane ( ie. human ) into a Shadowhunter ( nephilim, humans empowered with angel blood ). Valentine using the mortal cup will presumably raise an army of Shadowhunters to overthrow the current Shadowhunter regime, as well as wage war on the Downworld. Simon's incentive for a stay in Eudio would be getting the mortal cup out of Valentine's slimy psychotic grasp, and having it returned to Clary, which is in his opinion where it belongs.
FIT: Simon is still, despite his unbeating heart and vampire mojo, your average teenager. He likes telling bad jokes, watching terrible Nicolas Cage movies, and acoustic covers of hit singles. He would have no trouble fitting in with the Eudio crowd, or with fulfilling the conditions of his contract. Through the series he is shown engaging in casual physical contact, nearly every episode he has a dramatic reunion hug with Clary, is clapping someone on the back, or sharing a casual fist bump with his father figure ( who he has recently discovered has been hiding a furry werewolf secret ) Luke. Also as typical of a teenage boy, he's shown to have crushes, stutter when encountering the inordinately attractive, and try his attempt at flirting which is really rambling in disguise. Simon does have an understanding of consent, he'd never try to push his affections on anyone, despite being in love with his best friend Clary Fray for what seems to be the majority of his life, he never goes past the boundaries of that friendship. He has a strong moral sense of right and wrong, and disregard of consent is fully in the wrong category.

IN GAME SAMPLE :
[ really, he thinks, there’s nothing to be worried about. it’s not like he’s running from a demon, or being strung up by a pack of werewolves in the back of a chinese restaurant ( with surprisingly cheap cocktails ), it’s just a date. a normal, run of the mill, let’s get coffee i swiped you right on cuddlr date. that at the worst, he supposes, could end with a macchiato to the face and a mouth full of foam. still, there’s a part of him that wants to use his vampire speed to make a break for it, go back to his apartment and text his date that he couldn’t make it because something had come up. family emergency, personal problem, a case of the runs, anything.
or maybe just head to the bathroom and text clary an s.o.s. so she could work her best friend magic and set his head back on straight, tell him that everything would be okay, and that his date would find his nerves endearing instead of off-putting.
his leg bounces underneath the café table as he waits, at what he hopes is a normal human speed, and he has to remind himself to breathe. sure he doesn’t have to, but he’s always on edge—afraid that someone will notice that he’s not and sound off the vampire alarm. which in the back of his mind he knows isn’t a real thing, but he worries about it all the same. that someone will point to him and shout monster. go full on gaston and bring out the torches and pitchforks.
he knows he’s being ridiculous. after all he’s seen the network, knows that there are others like him here. other vampires. that even if his secret comes out that he won’t be ostracized, or put in a coffin of shame and isolation.
still.
there’s a niggling voice at the back of his head that says that he’s the monster under the bed. that no one will want to associate with someone who has blood bags in his refrigerator instead of t.v. dinners.
he taps his fingers in an off rhythm on the hardwood of the table, looks up at the red and white candy-striped umbrella providing him shade that gives him a measure of comfort even though the sun is well over set and there’s no chance that he’s going to combust, and pretends to be human.
breathes in. breathes out.
( and knocks over the table, when his date arrives, with how fast he jerks out of his seat. ) ]
ANYTHING ELSE? Simon, at the canon point which I'm taking him from, has made the transition from mundane to vampire. By ingesting vampire blood, dying with it running through his system, and clawing his way up out of his own grave. Being a vampire, or child of the night, he has a couple non-human abilities :
✢ ENHANCED SPEED : He's not the flash by any means, but vampires are able to travel at a much faster speed than humans.
✢ ENHANCED STRENGTH : Before the change Simon was barely able to hold his own in the Shadow World, and often played the role of damsel in distress and often found himself held hostage and/or kidnapped. After the change, he has been shown to be able to throw Raphael Santiago, one of his previous captors, into the side of a dirtied van with relative ease.
✢ ENHANCED SENSES : Smell, sight, hearing. He no longer needs to wear his high level prescription glasses, can smell the blood where it runs in people's veins, and can hear a pin drop in a crowded ( loud ) room.
✢ PERSUASION : Vampires can use a kind of species-special hypnosis on mundanes to get them to do what they want. Because Simon is a 'baby vampire' he has no idea how to do this, and even if he could, would not. Simon will not be using encanto/persuasion in the Eudio setting.
